About the Artist/Ensemble
Orquesta Tropikiimba is one of few authentic Afro-Caribbean Orchestras in the Virginia, Maryland, and Washington D.C. area. Band members are from countries such as Cuba, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Panama, Colombia, The Dominican Republic, St. Thomas and the United States. Although the band primarily plays Afro-Cuban music such as Salsa, Timba, Cha Cha, Rumba, Bolero, etc., they also play other Afro-Caribbean styles if requested in advance.
Tropikiimba shows are very energetic and exciting. Playing great arrangements from traditional Son & Rumba to modern Salsa & Timba, the band always connects with the crowd and has had people up on their feet and dancing from the east and west coasts of the United States all the way to Asia.
