Region 5 Commissioner

Meet Your Commissioner
How have the arts impacted you?
Attending productions in local or regional venues enhance my appreciation for our history in Virginia and her varied cultures. A wide array of musical and theatrical productions are offered in unique settings and current artists bring new offerings.
How have you seen the arts impact Virginians?
Residents and tourists alike are moved by productions presented in our theaters, museums, and music sites. Virginia’s students have opportunities to share their experiences and hopes in a variety of art forms, increasing their engagement with others.
What might someone be surprised to know about you?
Given my tendency to cheer on our Commonwealth and my hometown, someone may be surprised to know that I resided outside Virginia – for three months!
If you could be a world class artist, what would you be/do?
A singer/musician. This is a wish I have often expressed. Sadly, I can’t carry a tune!
If you had to say what your superpower was, what might that be?
If I had a superpower, it would be the ability to be in two places at once so that I would never miss an adventure or time with family and friends.
