About the Artist/Ensemble
AACC is a newly branded version of the award-winning men’s Harmonizer chorus from Alexandria, Va., with the addition of a women’s chorus Metro Voices launched in 2023. AACC specializes in one of a cappella’s most challenging forms, four-part close harmony. Both choruses have a reputation for high-energy performances that move audiences whether singing Broadway, pop standards, or patriotic music. They are thrilled to be on the VCA FY 26 Tour Directory and eager to expose more Virginians to their brand of entertainment. Bring them into your town and they guarantee to inspire with the beauty and power of the human voice. Check out their website https//:www.harmonizers.org.
Concert/Performance Description
The Harmonizers and Metro Voices can offer up to 90 minutes of diverse entertainment, which includes the choruses, performing separately and together, and one or more quartets. Shorter periods of 30-45 minutes can also be arranged. The Collective expects to tour with around 60 singers (40 Harmonizers and 20 Metro Voices), but smaller ensembles are possible for venues with limited space. Their performances appeal to anyone who enjoys family-friendly choral singing, a cappella harmony, and high energy, Broadway-style music. If members of local choral groups, including high school or college, are interested in participating in a finale of a well-known song (e.g. God Bless America), the Harmonizers would be happy to oblige. Or if a presenter would like to feature a local chorus on a segment of the show, they are open to that possibility.
Technical Requirements
Professional sound system to include 2-3 stage mics and lavaliers as needed for emcees and soloists. Need 5-6 standard risers for 5 row chorus staging with back rails (floor + 4 steps). Harmonizers have their own sound equipment and risers which can be provided if necessary for a nominal fee. Contact them for specifics.
Educational Programs
The Harmonizers and Metro Voices are willing to offer master classes/workshops of approximately 60 minutes in length to groups of interested choral singers from the area of the concert including students and educators at the high school and college level. These sessions could be scheduled in the afternoon prior to an evening performance. The session, led by young dynamic choral artists, includes an overview of the organization along with demonstrating aspects of AACC’s unique a cappella and visual performance styles.
