About the Artist/Ensemble
An active part of the Mid-Atlantic arts scene for 30 years, Brass 5 has presented more than 3,600 programs in schools and concert venues throughout the eastern United States and in Europe.
Brass 5 offers a vast repertoire from Renaissance, Classical, Dixieland, Swing and Jazz, to Rock, Country and more. The ensemble is at home in any size venue, from a 100 seat intimate recital hall to a large auditorium. Brass 5 will have your audience leaving with a smile and humming any one of its toe-tapping selections.

Brass 5 ensures that all educational programs are designed to meet Virginia’s SOL objectives. Programs are both entertaining and informative. Brass 5 has performed for over a half a million students in the eastern United States and Europe. The Art of Fun – a concert of various musical styles. Something for everyone. The Sounds of the Big Bands – some of America's best music from the best artists of the big band era: Miller, Ellington, Dorsey, Basie and more. It's just like you were there. A Toast to Christmas – a light hearted program of sacred and secular holiday favorites will make this program an evening to remember.
Roots – a favorite for middle and high schools tracing the development of jazz. There’s a lot of history and a lot of music. Why Music – a perfect program for the elementary schools. Students will be amazed at how music plays an important part in their lives. Ameican Dream – is an exploration of significant historical times and important figures in early American history linking the past and present thru music.
