About the Artist/Ensemble
Brigitte Huson was born and raised in Nashville, TN and received her BFA in Art Education and Studio Art, with a focus on painting and drawing from the University of Dayton in Ohio. After graduation, she shared her creativity and love for the arts throughout 10 years of teaching elementary art in Northern Virginia with Fairfax County Public Schools. This teaching experience and support from colleagues was coupled with a curriculum that helped children explore process over product, foundational skills, and the larger conceptual ideas behind their artwork, proving how invaluable art is to healthy development and well balanced communities. She now lives in the beautiful town of Staunton with her husband, children, and pup and continues to teach independently through local workshops and private lessons. In between caring for her family, playing in the garden, reading, and enjoying all the local community has to offer, Brigitte carves out time for painting and drawing, focusing on acrylic paintings of local landmarks, landscapes, and mixed media work exploring light and texture. She specializes in creating custom artwork for clients and painting landscapes and still life’s that reflect the color, light, and beauty of the world around her. Her goal is to help make the Arts as accessible and as present as possible in her community through teaching, exhibiting her work, supporting local artists, and being involved in various creative organizations.
