About the Artist/Ensemble
Mill Mountain Theatre is dedicated to training the next generation of artists and building an appreciation of the art form in the next generation of audiences. Mill Mountain Theatre’s initiatives in Education and Community Engagement foster artistic growth in students of all ages and strengthen the organization’s relationship with the wider Roanoke Valley region through instructional programming, performances, partnerships, and special classes.
Mill Mountain Theatre’s Apprentice Company, a group of young professional theatre artists, performs throughout the region at schools, community centers, libraries and parks. For over ten years, Mill Mountain Theatre has collaborated with schools and community resources to help raise reading skills of students through the performing arts. Summer and Fall Touring Productions are tied to a literary source, and study guides as well as workshops are available to further capture students’ interest.

Fall 2026 – Curious George: The Golden Meatball TYA
Performing: October 5 – November 1
Join Curious George, the inquisitive, loveable monkey-star of books, movies and the award-winning PBS television show in a brand new musical. Curious George: The Golden Meatball TYA is a loveable adventure, specifically designed for young audiences, that is sure to leave them singing and swinging down the aisles.

Fall/Winter 2026 – Encore! A Broadway Celebration
Performing: October-December (daytime performances only)
After an initial run at Mill Mountain Theatre, the Mill Mountain Apprentice Company will take Encore! A Broadway Celebration, a concert featuring some of your favorite and most well-known Broadway hits, on the road.

Educational Programs
Francesca Reilly, the Director of Education, and her team will offer various performance workshops for pre-K through adults. Workshops may include improvisation, storytelling, movement and other theatre skills. Workshops can be tailored to a specific audience and discussed with Francesca. Prices vary based on time, number of attendees and travel.
Fees
Curious George: The Golden Meatball TYA performances: $500
Encore! A Broadway Celebration performances $300
Travel expenses will be determined based on service and location
