About the Artist/Ensemble

Southern Appalachian Dance Collective is a professional suitcase-style dance company based in Abingdon, VA, dedicated to bringing high-quality ballet and contemporary dance to communities across Virginia. Originally incorporated as Olina Dance Collective in 2022, Southern Appalachian Dance Collective was re-established in 2023. The Collective performs in classical ballet and contemporary dance styles and is made up of 10 artists. Through community and school group performances, the Collective showcases professional-level dance to a wider audience and enriches the community with an increased awareness of high quality cultural opportunities. One guiding principle of the Collective is the concept of collaboration. The Collective strives to work with a variety of artists, both performing and fine arts, costume designers, musicians, choreographers and community members to develop performances and programming that meet the needs of the community as well as being artistically interesting and an exceptional experience for the audience.

Concert/Performance Description

Southern Appalachian Dance Collective’s fees for story ballets and concert style performances vary due to subsidies; please inquire.
Master classes, open company class, workshops, and education/outreach services available; please inquire. All offerings/fees are negotiable based upon the size and scope of the tour engagement. Offerings/fees have a range of $0-$5,000, but may be negotiated upon inquiry.
