About the Artist/Ensemble
Terra Voce thrills audiences with lively concert programs that explore a colorful array of musical styles from Baroque to tango, Brazilian choro and European folk. Known for performances that combine the diverse and unexpected, cellist Andrew Gabbert and flutist Elizabeth Brightbill connect with their listeners through music that surprises, uplifts, and inspires curiosity. The duo’s down-to-earth approach creates a relaxed and refreshingly informal setting for performances that test the limits of what is possible on just two instruments. Terra Voce also offers programs with the internationally acclaimed pianist Maria Yefimova, combining works from their duo repertoire with trios from the classical repertoire.
Concert/Performance Description
Elizabeth and Andrew’s shared passion for music of all styles drives them to explore and create programs without boundaries. A typical Terra Voce concert spans diverse musical styles and traditions and includes compositions specifically written for flute and cello alongside the ensemble’s own cross-genre arrangements of tangos by Astor Piazzolla, Brazilian choro by Pixinguinha, European traditional folk sets, and music of Baroque masters such as J.S. Bach and Marin Marais.
