Meet Your Commissioner
How have the arts impacted you?
The arts have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Drawing, painting, structures, performance, design, it all informs my views of the world, and the endless possibilities of creative expression.
How have you seen the arts impact Virginians?
I’ve seen the arts serve as conduit of understanding various political movements and historical moments over time.
What might someone be surprised to know about you?
Some may be surprised to know that I won speech competitions as a kid.
If you could be a world class artist, what would you be/do?
I would be a world class sculptor, or a violinist?
If you had to say what your superpower was, what might that be?
If I had to say, perhaps versatility is my superpower.
