Funding Credit

In all published material regarding the particular activity supported by the Virginia Commission for the Arts, the acknowledgment must be made that the activity is partially supported by a grant from the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts. The purpose of crediting the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts is to provide citizens with an accurate picture of the broad range of arts activities supported by their state and federal tax dollars. This acknowledgment should be included in programs, print and online newsletters, educational materials, brochures, news releases, websites, catalogs, and videos.

For print/Web acknowledgment, please use the following: 

This project was supported [in part] by the Virginia Commission for the Arts, which receives support from the Virginia General Assembly and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.  

VCA and NEA logos should accompany this language if possible. 

For radio or television broadcasts, please use the following language: 

This project is supported in part by an award from the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.

For television broadcasts, a display of the current VCA and NEA logos is required.  

In order to prevent inappropriate crediting, VCA and NEA crediting language should specify the supported program/activity. Organizations must remove VCA and NEA acknowledgments from their websites and printed materials at the completion of their respective grant periods.     

Failure to acknowledge the support of the Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts through the use of these logos and the above language will result in the cancelation of the second grant installment.
